Marriage Records of St. Mary's Church of Fort Covington 1869-1916, Index

The images for the original records can be accessed at an LDS/FHC film No. 1450727, Items 7-9 (DGS 7857896). The index at the back of the first volume (item 7) starts on image 763. Note they only contain baptism, confirmation and marriage records (no death records) in the microfilmed source for at least this volume.

This record has not yet been indexed by LDS and thus is not searchable in their database. It is also locked to be viewable only at a Family History Center (FHC) location.

There are 3 volumes (Items 7-9), but only volume 1 has been transcribed so far. The dates range from 1869 to approximately 1885 (I did not determine this exactly). Each page containing about 8 or so records. The original records are in Latin, with names having Latin endings. Parents names do not seem to be included in most, if not all, the records. Many names are of French-Canadian origin and have many variant spellings. The index at the back of the book was obviously created at a later date. Though relatively easy to read, some names were tougher to discern than others. The letters "n" and "u" were especially difficult to distingish. So, there are likely some errors in this transcription of the index which may also have errors inherent in it as well.

As part of this transcription, I have done some slight alphabetical reordering of the names provided in the original index. I have also created a bride's index below the groom's index. The original is ordered soley by the groom's name. The names in ( ) were as provided in the index.
